What you receive

The official website describes eight Obsidian Shell skins. PlayStation lists the Devout Edition as the full game plus the Devout Edition upgrade, and also lists the upgrade separately.

The skins change appearance. They should not be read as eight additional playable characters or as a required purchase to unlock the game’s normal Shells.

The early-access offer has ended

Playstack’s July announcement offered up to 72 hours of early access to players who pre-purchased Devout. General release was August 20, 2026, so this is a past launch benefit, not extra play time available after buying today.

Choosing an edition

Choose standard if your priority is the adventure itself. Consider Devout if you want the Obsidian cosmetic set. On platforms with a separate upgrade listing, check that it matches your game and account region.

Revered is a different physical PS5 collector’s edition. Compare the actual retailer contents before treating its name as interchangeable with Devout. Current prices are shown at the linked stores.

The 72-hour early-access offer has expired

Do not expect a current early-play advantage. Playstack promised pre-purchasers up to 72 hours of access before the worldwide August 20, 2026 release, so that benefit was limited to the pre-release period.

When comparing editions now, base the decision on the lasting cosmetic content rather than storefront text or articles that still mention the old pre-purchase window.

How to choose or upgrade

Choose Devout if the eight Obsidian appearances matter to you. The publisher calls them skins; the listed bonus is cosmetic and is not presented as additional statistics, abilities, weapons, or other gameplay advantages.

If you already own the standard PS5 game, inspect the separate Devout Edition Upgrade instead of automatically buying the complete edition again. On another platform, check its own store for an upgrade product rather than assuming that the PS5 purchase path is shared.

Confirmed-content checklist

Before checkout, make sure the item name says either the complete Devout Edition or the Devout Edition Upgrade. The complete edition includes the full game; the upgrade is intended for someone who already owns the base product. The permanent bonus documented by the publisher is the set of eight Obsidian Shell skins. A soundtrack, artbook, weapon pack, expansion pass, currency pack, or exclusive quest is not part of the published Devout list unless the live store explicitly adds it.

Store prices and regional availability can change. Compare the current complete-edition price with the base game plus upgrade on your own platform and region before choosing the less expensive path.

Do not confuse Devout with Revered

Devout is the digital deluxe edition, while Revered is the PS5 physical collector’s edition. Revered includes a physical artbook, steelcase, fine-art prints, and unspecified digital extras.

The official game site says the Revered Edition is sold out in most territories. That availability statement applies to the physical collector’s release, not the digital Devout Edition.
